Spider-Man: Friend or Foe

Just touched the Spider-Man: Friend or Foe Demo earlier this week. From the clips from E3 earlier this year, I imagined a much better game. Activision has been very successful with the Spider-Man game series. Obviously, you can’t make a real decision from demo, but in this case I beg to differ.  The whole premise of the game is in the title; “Friend or Foe”, Spidey’s foes, become his allies.  One thing that racks my brain is how they became allies.  The opening scene has Spidey and Harry teaming up, then the characters are abducted, and you pick an ally.  Where’s the reason? Enemies don’t just be friend each other without some type of catalyst. But I digress.  The graphics are okay for the opening cut scene, but I felt the graphics are a tad comic book-ish, I’m okay with that.  On the other had, the game play graphics are good. It’s not choppy, it’s smooth. The camera is well placed and reminds me of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but strictly Spider-Man style. [LOL]

The demo gives you a good look in how the game play will be when it’s actually released. It has a nice co-op option, the person can jump seamlessly in and out of the game with no interruption. Again I feel like it’s a remake of Ultimate Alliance just with a Spider-Man based cast.  The controls are REAL simple. It will make it easy for those button spammers out there.

In the scheme of things, I don’t see my self spending $60 bucks on this game. Maybe I’ll rent it if I get really bored and can’t find my Ultimate Alliance game. [Don't get discouraged, it's only a DEMO]
